As reported in the Washington Times,  Denver Archbishop Charles Chaput has not been invited to join a very lengthy list of other clergy members to address the Democratic National Convention when it convenes in Denver next week.  Snubbing the leader of 385,000 Catholics in northern Colorado is “a serious oversight” according to Raymond Flynn, the [...]

Salazar and Democrats won’t drill offshore even at $10 a gallon

( Colorado and Congress and Energy and Politics )

That is not a misprint!  Senator Mitch McConnell offered a series of amendments to expand drilling offshore.  Colorado Sen. Ken Salazar repeatedly said “I object!”  Watch this video of Senate floor proceedings from July 31.
Salazar objected to McConnell’s amendments even if offshore drilling was withheld until gas reached $4.50 per gallon, or $5.00, or $7.50, [...]

Following his return home Kirk said,”I [...]

Good News for the Month – BLM to Move forward on Roan Leases

The Bureau of Land Management announced recently that they were moving forward to implement the cautiously restrictive resource development plan for the Roan Plateau in western Colorado estimated to contain 9 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.
We see that as Good News for at least four reasons. First, Colorado’s economy could use the boost from [...]

Those Champions of Diversity from Boulder - Only 2.8% (23 0f 823) at CU are Republicans

Ed Rozek, Professor Emeritus at the University of Colorado, thought the public berating of Bruce Benson by the CU faculty was outrageous. He also thought there was more to it than just questioning Benson’s qualifications. Could the “lynching of Bruce Benson” have had something to do with his involvement in Republican party politics?
So, [...]

Bob Schaffer – A Man of Principle Standing Up for Colorado’s Taxpayers and Protecting the Constitution

Bob Schaffer can read, which is helpful if you are going to be Colorado’s next United States Senator.  More importantly, he understands what he reads. Schaffer was peeved at the actions of Gov. Ritter and the Democrat majority in the State Legislature to “freeze” property tax rates that would otherwise have fallen.  This scheme is [...]
