It has become very fashionable among the liberals to bash America. All the world’s problems seem to have a common denominator – “blame America first.” Even Michele Obama confessed that her husband becoming a Presidential contender was the “first time in my adult life I am proud of my country.”
Well, thankfully some people still think highly of America.
In a dramatic rescue operation earlier this month, the Columbian military rescued 15 hostages held by the radical FARC terrorist organization, including Americans Keith Stansell, Thomas Howes and Marc Gonsalves. The three were working for a Northrup-Gruman subsidiary when their drug surveillance plane went down 5 ½ years ago.
In statements released on the fourth of July, the three expressed their appreciation to the Columbian military and the American government (Bush Administration) “who never forgot us.” They survived by clinging to the hope that, “we would, one day, return home to the country we love.”
Maybe you have to loose your freedom to appreciate it.
And, what does the Democrat Congress do in exchange for the friendship and courage of the Columbians? Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid refuse to even bring the Columbian Free Trade Agreement to the floor for debate. It’s a trade agreement that was finalized nearly two years ago, but stonewalled by the Democrat leadership as a perk to the big labor unions. That hurts American workers and our economy – and pokes a finger in the eye of the Columbians.
