America at Risk: Waiting on Nancy

Posted on Friday 21 March 2008

 Days Since FISA Expired:

34

Nancy Pelosi arrogantly denied the House a vote on legislation already passed 68-29 by the Senate, and as a result surveillance wiretap authority necessary for our American intelligence community to intercept terrorist telecommunications expired on February 16.

Mike McConnell, Director of National Intelligence and Attorney General Michael Mukasey said Pelosi’s inaction has had “real and negative consequences for our national security.”  The VFW National Commander George Lisicki called it “asinine.”

Meanwhile, as a result of the Democrat House Leadership’s stubborn unwillingness to act, America is in “increased danger” according to DNI McConnell, and “it will increase more and more as time goes on.”

Nancy doesn’t seem to be in any hurry – she’s sent the House on vacation twice since FISA expired.  However, based upon his latest message of hate, Osama bin Laden isn’t taking any time off.

How many more days must America wait, Nancy?
