Government Fails at Parenting-Does any of this make sense?

Posted on Tuesday 18 March 2008

A couple of five year old kindergarteners are busted for kissing on the playground.  The Cops are called.

A Connecticut school district decided their kids were too fat, so they banned candy.  An eight grad honors student and class vice-president couldn’t go “cold turkey.”  He was suspended from school after being caught with Skittles.

A couple of seventh grade boys touched a seventh grade girl were they shouldn’t have.  The school principal took immediate action according to state and district sexual harassment policy. She suspended the boys from school, contacted county Social Services, and set up a meeting with the girl’s parents. Nonetheless, the DA has charged the principal with a crime and a court date is set.

A California court rules that parents can no longer homeschool their children without having “teaching credentials.”  Gov. Schwarzenegger  has vowed to take on the court.

More than 1-in-4 girls ages 14-19 have one or more of the exploding number of diseases groups as STDs (sexually transmitted diseases).  Among African-Americans, nearly half are infected.
But, in Denver Public Schools they are considering distributing contraceptives that would doubtlessly encourage even more sexual activity.

Government keeps trying to be parents, but they are failing miserably.  The reason teachers and cops are on pins and needles is out of fear of being sued to high heaven and having careers ruined by a lawyer with a windfall-seeking parent in tow who can twist vague state law into a pay day in court.  This kind of craziness isn’t going to encourage anyone to become a cop or a teacher – professions for which we could use all the good talent we can find.

The message of “if you do it, just don’t get pregnant” has failed badly.  And, thousands of young girls tragically will never be mothers, or will go through life scared and suffering with incurable genital diseases.  Boys are in the very same situation, of course.

Nobody from the government told them what all the consequences of sexual activity were.  The entire message has been “just don’t get pregnant.”  And, even if you do get pregnant, the liberals have the abortion “fix” for that.

Pam Stenzel is a mother of three and has traveled the world telling kids the truth about sexual activity and teaching the message of abstinence.  As she puts it, “We are a culture that believes we can sin safely.”  Maybe the truth is catching up to us.
