In the wake of the Mississippi primary, pollsters found that with a meaningless Republican primary (McCain had already wrapped things up) 13% of the GOP faithful had followed the advice of Rush Limbaugh and Laura Ingraham. In the open Democrat primary they went and voted for Hillary Clinton on the theory that she’d be the Democrat McCain would most like to beat in November. Meanwhile, the pollsters found that 37% of Mississippi Democrats had a “favorable” impression of John McCain.
Guess what the CNN story headline was? Exit Polls: Clinton draws Republican support. It’s hard to get more fair and balanced than that, isn’t it?
