In case you missed it: U.S. Tightening the Screws on Iran

Posted on Thursday 25 October 2007

The Bush Administration’s increasing concerns over the continued march toward nuclear weapon capabilities by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the lack of consensus by the international community to do anything about it have reached a crossroads.  Tomorrow, the White House is expected to announce new sanctions against Iran along with accusations that the Quds division of the Revolutionary Guard is a supporter of terrorism.  Further, because of the pursuit of nuclear capabilities, the White House will charge the entire Revolutionary Guard Corps with proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Russia’s Vladimir Putin was recently in Tehran and with Ahmadinejad at his side declared that all was well. China has also been unwilling to pressure Iran.

Once again, we find ourselves living in times that try men’s souls.
